Course Description:
Health Implications of Climate Change and Sustainability for Nurse Educators is a self-paced, online course that has been designed to give nurse educators a better understanding of climate change and the growing impact it has on patient health. Upon completion of the course, nursing professionals will gain the requisite knowledge to teach the health implications of climate change and sustainability content as part of a professional nursing curriculum. This course is fully online and asynchronous. Participants will work through the course at their own pace and will be given 30 days to complete the course once registered. Nurse educators and nurse professionals who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate from Upstate AHEC for 2 contact hours of continuing education.

Part 3: Role of the nurse in sustainability and teaching resources
Course Requirements:
To successfully complete this course and receive a certificate from Upstate AHEC for 2 contact hours of continuing education, partipants are expected to complete all course learning activities.
By the end of this course, partipants will:

Self-report their own knowledge gain in the basic principles of climate change and sustainability.

Demonstrate increased knowledge of specific health related impacts of climate change by successfully completing the final assessment with a score of 80% or higher.

Create a sample teaching plan that incorporates climate change and sustainability content into nursing curricula.

To Participate fully in this course, you will need:
- An active email address for the individual participating in the course.
- A desktop computer or laptop (recommended): Canvas is available on mobile devices, but some content may appear differently
- Access to a high-speed internet connection.
- A web browser compatible with Canvas: Chrome and Firefox are recommended.
- Headphones or speakers (closed captioning also available)
- Computer skills including Internet browsing, using email, typing, downloading files, and basic troubleshooting.
